Textiles for Decorating Windows

There are few things that will set my busy mind to rest like a beautiful fabric for a window treatment. The room will have many personalities as the changing light interacts with the weave.

Also called casement fabrics, shear textiles allow light to pass through while still providing privacy. In the evening, interior lighting will illuminate the fabric differently and the art of the fabric design can be enjoyed.

If I’m selecting window treatments for a bedroom in which I’ll need to block the light,  I like to hang a black-out shade on an inside-mount roller and have the sheer fabric, either lined or unlined, on the outside as a roman shade.
