Montara – A Mountain Escape

The Lucas Residence is located in Montara, a town that nestles itself between the mountains and the Pacific coast. The homeowners live their lives between very urban and natural settings. The juxtaposition of these ideas was successfully reflected in the design of this Mountain Escape. The goal to improve the attractiveness and function of their home was achieved through color and material selection. We went beyond safe neutral tones to meet the homeowners’ urban sophistication while keeping with the natural aesthetics that originally drew them to Montara.
