Sonoma Dining Room

The rich Crimson walls of this Sonoma dining room create a sense of warmth and energy. The clients wanted a dining room that was formal but not intimidating to gather for holiday meals and family events. Therefore, the design of the expansive room and its furnishings had to meet those moments. The opportunity to create intimacy in this large space comes in the form of two large tables that were built from an old growth walnut tree on the property. When connected, the table offers a single surface to gather. When detached, the tables can be moved around the room in different configurations. The two pendants sit close to the ceiling to accommodate the table movement. Since this was a new build, the table and the vintage sideboard balance out the newness of the home. The tall French doors and translucent linen drapes add understated elegance to the space. The room fits the house and the family moments to come.
